11/21/2023 0 Comments Aventon vs rad power![]() ![]() Your other choices are a lot lighter, closer to 50 lbs.Īre you planning on mostly using PAS or mostly using the throttle or both? If you want the pedal assist to feel more “natural” and seamless, I’d suggest looking at the ride1up LMT’d instead of the 700. It weighs 74 lbs so it’s a freaking heavy bike and if you don’t really want the fat tire aesthetic carrying the extra weight seems like a waste. If you don’t really want fat tires, cross the rad rover off your list. That’s not to say everyone has a bad experience, but definitely check out each brand’s repair situation if you’re concerned about reliability: they should have a service network/map of authorized repair shops on their site you can look at. Often local bike stores don’t want to touch random ebike repairs because it’s a hassle, or because the parts are proprietary/hard to source. What I guess I am looking for in terms of input : Which of these companies has a better reliability reputation? Is a suspension fork worth the extra price? What are the chances that Aventon will be having sales towards the end of summer (RadPower sale ends in 4 weeks)? Am I missing anything or any other companies?Īs far as companies go, a lot of the online “non-traditional” ebike companies (ie not an established legacy bike manufacturer like specialized or trek) are going to have the same complaints about bad experiences with customer service and trouble getting parts and/or service for bikes. ![]() Only things about it that I don't like is the fat tires, and only semi-integrated battery and if it was another couple $100 cheaper. The RadPower with the current discount is very enticing I am not sure if unlocking the speed to 25mph is still possible and whether that 3 mph will be noticeable. ![]() Hydraulic fork, hydraulic brakes, color display, rear light (attached to rack – cheap) RadRover 6 Plus - $1600 - 20mph (can unlock 25mph) - $400 saleįenders, integrated lights, Throttle and PAS suspension fork, hydraulic brakesįAT tire (not a fan of this aesthetic though they don't seem too fat)įront light only, Throttle and PAS, black and white display Will be doing mostly bike trail riding (but there are some uneven surfaces on these).Ĭolor display, Throttle and PAS, Integrated lights, hydraulic brakes Preferences are : PAS up to 28mph, throttle, integrated lights, color display, suspension fork, non-fat tires, fenders - These are not mandatory, they are preferred.
